Alieta Nikolaishvili is a fashion designer and the creator of TATUNA. Born in Tbilisi, Georgia, her passion for design began in early childhood and naturally became her life’s direction. For her, fashion was never a choice, but an instinctive form of expression. From the age of 16, she worked with ateliers and brands, developing a deep, hands-on understanding of craftsmanship and garment construction.
After studying leather and accessories at the Tbilisi State Academy of Arts, she continued her education in sustainable fashion at Copenhagen Business School. She later graduated from Istituto Marangoni Paris, where she now works with students, leading workshops focused on upcycling and hands-on creation.
Alieta believes that clothing communicates before words, it shapes identity, emotion, and presence through form, structure, and material.
For her, everything begins with sketching. Drawing is her natural starting point, where ideas take shape. She is deeply involved in every stage of the process, from the first sketch to the final garment, maintaining a close and personal connection to creation.
Her work is strongly influenced by architecture, with a focus on construction, proportion, and movement. She approaches garments as structured forms built around the body, where balance and technique are essential.
A key element of her practice is transformation, reworking existing materials, deadstock fabrics, and garments, giving them new life while preserving their history and meaning.
Currently, Alieta is fully dedicated to her work through TATUNA, continuously developing her design approach and creative practice.
For Alieta, fashion is a continuous process of thinking, creating, and refining, a discipline shaped by intuition and a strong personal vision.
TATUNA is shaped by craftsmanship and a deep respect for construction. Founded in 2015 in Tbilisi, Georgia, the brand focuses on timeless pieces, creative ready-to-wear, and designs that reflect individual identity.
TATUNA approaches clothing as a form of expression, where each piece communicates character and presence. The collections balance structure and creativity, combining strong silhouettes with a refined, artistic sensibility.
Beyond collections, TATUNA creates exhibitions and installations, approaching clothing in a more conceptual and expressive way and moving between fashion and art.
All garments are developed and handmade in the brand’s Tbilisi workshop by a team of 15 skilled artisans. This close, in-house production process ensures high quality, precision, and a direct connection between concept and final piece.
Sustainability is an integral part of the brand’s approach. TATUNA works with existing materials, including deadstock fabrics and unused garments, reinterpreting them through upcycling and thoughtful design. Rather than following fast production cycles, the brand focuses on extending the life of materials and creating pieces with lasting value.
TATUNA actively participates in Paris Fashion Week, presenting and conducting sales during the season.
TATUNA represents a balance between creativity and wearability, where each piece is defined by form, craftsmanship, and a strong sense of individuality.
