The vyshyvanka and the hanbok aren’t the only traditional dress making the rounds on the international fashion scene. During Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Tbilisi, showgoers scurried off to Samoseli Pirveli, a local store that sells new Georgian traditional clothing, in order to snap up the chokha, a jacket adorned by decorative cartridge pockets, and the papakha, a tall karakul-wool hat, to be worn back in the States and beyond. Could it be that the Caucasus country of Georgia is now, well, trendy?
