Launched back in 2009, the Mercedes-Benz International Designer Exchange Program (IDEP) had the admirable goal of mentoring emerging design talent from around the world. By working with Mercedes-Benz supported fashion platforms, the programme created opportunities for designers to present their collections outside of their local markets to an international audience.

In the 10 years since IDEP launched, Mercedes-Benz has supported 92 designers from around the world on 27 global fashion platforms. In 2018, the fashion engagement was active across 41 countries and involved in over 80 events, including Mercedes-Benz Fashion Weeks in Australia, Tbilisi, and Berlin, amongst others.
